this 80 minutes podcast contains the 14 instrumental songs listed above -- much less than the playlist heard during these past months, but still enough to carry us through Book One of 'the last canvas'…

The 3 first songs are for Laurent, for his meeting with his father, and for Carlo's rough and yet grand times at the abandoned factory in Paris.
Alice Coltrane takes us to the Indian Ocean and the haunted yet lovely Île du Blanchomme, to celebrate the joy of best friends reunited, followed by Peter Gabriel that brings Armand's heavy heart, and then his coming out to Jóhansson's delicate, subtle melody.
Their last days together, hearts awakened, and the parting come from Esmerine, and next Arvo Pärt gives the atmosphere to Carlo's lonely and peaceful days on the island, in his voluntary isolation, when the longing for Armand arises and he touches his own heart…
Cathrine's arrival and her clashes with Carlo are within the next melody, while Consoli's sensual melody represents their lazy days spent in love making... that soon turns into worries and a darker mood for the young lovers, in the next melody that culminates with Armand's return.
The revelation about Catherine's presence on the island and the last day on the Île, when these three characters learn to deal with suffering are the 2 last melodies. Jónsi's beautiful vocalese closes this podcast and sets the mood for the next part of the novel, Interlude One aka the Icelandic Interlude.
